John Haines

John Micael Haines was born and raised in Virginia. He picked up the guitar at age 14 and was self-taught until he witnessed someone playing classical-style guitar. John began lessons soon thereafter.

After high school, John studied at Shenandoah Conservatory, where he received a BFA in Music. While attending Shenandoah, he was privileged to take
Master classes with Ricardo Cobo, Mark Teicholz and Oliver Chanson, among other reputable teachers and performers.

Since moving to Wyoming 15 years ago, John has performed extensively. One notable event was playing for all of the Attorney Generals of the United States. John’s continuing expansion of technique and repertoire feeds his renewed desire for the guitar everyday. He is currently playing with bass legend Bill Plummer.
